Silver Era Specification Booklet by William C. Jahn

A handy specification booklet has been compiled by William C. Jahn.  Covered are amplifiers, pre-amplifiers, receivers, cassette decks, tuners, open reel decks, turntables, speakers, headphones, microphones and more.  It is less comprehensive compared to the definitive 1970-1985 Specification Bible described elsewhere on this website, but it is a worthwhile brief reference to have.  Contact  William C. Jahn at his email address: <wjahn5@yahoo.com>

Oak Tree Vintage

There are a few companies operating on the internet that also appreciate the Pioneer Silver Era of stereo components and go out of their way to find pristine examples of these components.  On top of that they offer a 30-day warranty.  One of them is:

http://www.oaktreevintage.com/hi-fi_.htm

Their Hi-Fi page states:

"DISAPPOINTED WITH THE RECENT STATE OF HI-FI DESIGN?  LONG FOR THE DAYS WHEN AUDIO EQUIPMENT HAD REAL KNOBS YOU COULD GRAB HOLD OF, AND WHEN A PIECE OF GEAR LOOKED LIKED IT WAS MILLED FROM A SOLID CHUNK OF METAL INSTEAD OF SOME FRAGILE PIECE OF PLASTIC WITH A BUNCH OF LEDS STUCK ON IT?"

This page carries brands other than Pioneer and takes a while to load, but it is worth the wait.  Their warranty offers peace of mind that you will not be stuck with a faulty component.
